Amy Smart is an American former actress and model. Her modeling career started in Italy in Italy, in which she was born and raised, before being born in California. Her acting career began in 1996 when she starred in the TV film Her Costly Affair. The actress struggled for a small role for her in Starship Troopers. This was not easy for Amy since she needed change from modeling to the acting profession. Models aren't regarded as the best actors, so they usually get smaller, insignificant roles. Amy persevered, and ultimately she was offered bigger parts in the movies Varsity Blues and The 70s. Amy later stepped into lead roles in the love story Just Friends starring Ryan Reynolds. It was a huge commercial success, and Amy has finally achieved the fame she had been seeking for more than 10 years. Amy went on to work in many of the greatest film productions, such as the Crank series with Jason Statham as well as Shameless in which she portrayed a character who remained in the spotlight for a long time.
