Amy Smart is an American former model and actress. Growing up and being raised in California USA she started her modeling profession in Italy. Her Costly Affair, a 1996 TV film, was her first performance. It took a long time to get her into Starship Troopers in a smaller role. She struggled with the transition into acting since actors were never considered an actor, so they generally were offered less roles. Amy had a determination to be successful and was eventually offered larger roles beginning at The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. In 2005, Amy took on the lead role in The romantic comedic film Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. Amy finally got the recognition she'd been looking for for over a decade. Amy was in several big movies in the Crank trilogy opposite Jason Statham. And she was also a regular character on the Shameless series.
