Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actor. Paquin was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Wellington and first made her acting debut in the role of Flora McGrath when she played her role as Flora in The Piano. She won an Academy Award at the age of 11 to be the Best Actress Supporting Actress. Following a prompt for auditions, she was able to audition at the age of nine, and with little acting experience before that the actress was chosen for Flora McGrath's role. Flora is the daughter of the Scottish pianist who was mute. The couple relocated from Scotland to New Zealand during the middle of the 19th century in order to get married. As a teenager, she moved into the United States. Paquin had a small part in the role of Jane Eyre's title character while she was a child on Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) as well as she was a leading character in the movie Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin played Frankie Addams from a television film adaptation of Carson McCullers's novels The Member of the Wedding (1997). Paquin was a part of the supporting cast in The Queen of Spain Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997. She played teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000) as well as A Walk on the Moon (2000). She played groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
