Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's story is a mix of football scholarships for his family as well as service to the community. The first family is his youngest of the nine children of Lucious Selmon and Jessie. The family lived on a farm in Eufala, Oklahoma. Two soccer. He was one of three brothers who were players for Oklahoma. Three brothers all made All-Americans. The year 1973 was the first time Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the first-teamers for the entire year. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award and the Lombardi Award as the top lineman in America. Lee Roy won two championships, and 31-1-1 during his three years as Oklahoma's starter. The third scholarship was awarded to him. He was a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon obtained a degree as a teacher. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer times a week in the college. In Tampa, he played for the Buccaneers for nine seasons, and eventually became an all-pro. Also, he began his career in the field of business. In 1988, he was an Account Relation Officer at Tampa's First Florida Bank and worked on the following groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute on the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. The Junior Chamber of Commerce honored Lee Roy in 1982 for being among the top 10 youngsters in the US. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265 pounds in the time he played football at college. The year 1975 was the first time he was the captain of the team. In 1993, he was named as associate director at the University of South Florida. In 1993, the College Football Hall of Fame recognized the player on the 28th of October, 1998. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame In 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame In 1995. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded the Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor who made this presentation.
